Tom spent most of his business career working for First Health Group Corp., now known as Coventry Health Care. There have been a few movies made about the young guy that starts off in the mailroom and ends up owning his own business. Well, that's Tom's story. In between that inauspicious start getting the mail out back in Downers Grove, Illinois to managing 100,000 square foot office projects for tenant improvements, furniture installation, and low voltage communication cabling, Tom has been involved in every aspect of occupying office space and making it function for thousands of workers. Among various job responsibilities, Tom was responsible for the facility support for the company's state-of-the-art data center in Phoenix, Arizona where he became extremely knowledgeable on data communication wiring and connectivity. In 2005, Tom felt it was time to take his wealth of corporate experience and apply it with an entrepreneurial spirit he knew he always had and bought a business called Steadfast Services. At the time, Steadfast was one moving truck, two "sometime" employees, and very little revenue. Through Tom's sheer determination, the interpersonal skills to sell himself, and the vision to marry modular furniture installation with communication cabling, Steadfast grew ten-fold in two years. Dennis TauteGeneral PartnerDenny has over 30 years experience as both a small business owner and a Fortune 500 company executive. After college in Iowa, Denny became involved in a very successful restaurant company that operated different concepts in 25 cities across the Midwest. Among several responsibilities as Director of Operations, he was charged with site selection, construction management, and facility management. These experiences served him well in the corporate world as Vice-President, Real Estate and Facilities Management with First Health Group Corp. In this position, Denny managed a real estate portfolio of 40 offices nationwide totaling 2 million square feet of office space. With over 300 lease transactions and the complete responsibility for 6 build-to-own and build-to-suit projects valued at $50 million for 400,000 square feet of office space, Denny has a wealth of both transactional and developmental real estate experience. Before there was a large real estate portfolio to manage, Denny was among the first Certified Facility Managers (CFM) in the country and spent several years in the hands-on world of Facility Management and Voice Communications that provided a solid background for him to partner with Tom and form Office Space Solutions. John PloCommunication Cabling Project ManagerJohn has 17 years experience in providing low voltage and communication cabling services for office space, industrial warehouse, and retail outlets. Like the principals of Office Space Solutions, John started off "in the basement" pulling cable for a large electrical contractor in Phoenix, Arizona. His enthusiasm for technology led him to become an AMC Technician and coupled with his leadership ability soon had him in a supervisory position for large cabling projects around the Valley. After several years of hands-on field work, his skill in customer relations and service was recognized by his promotion to project management for a large cabling vendor. John worked as a Project Manager for Allied Signal's Global Link Project and large projects at Motorola and First Health Group Corp. John's acumen for business management then moved him into roles as a project estimator and engineer and finally to an Account Management position. When Tom Cruz made the astute judgment to link his rapidly developing furniture installation business with communication cabling he recruited John to join Office Space Solutions as the backbone to provide outstanding technical service with proven customer satisfaction.
